Our Philosophy

An Academy Devoted to Classical Artistry

Prathibha School of Dance was founded on a simple belief: that classical Indian dance is a living tradition, not a museum piece. Every class is built around discipline, devotion, and joy — helping students of all ages discover the grace, geometry, and storytelling of dance from the very first step.

We follow the guru-shishya parampara, the time-honoured teacher-student tradition, paired with structured, age-appropriate curricula. The result is technical precision, expressive confidence, and a genuine connection to Indian cultural heritage — nurtured right here in Kuwait.

Bharatanatyam

A devotional temple art form from Tamil Nadu, expressed through precise mudras, rhythmic footwork, and storytelling.

Kuchipudi

A lyrical dance-drama tradition from Andhra Pradesh, marked by fluid movement, swift footwork, and dramatic narration.

Mohiniyattam

Kerala's "dance of the enchantress" — gentle, swaying movements with graceful, lyrical expression.

Semi-Classical

Expressive choreography that blends classical foundations with contemporary musicality and styling.

Meet the Founder

For Rajasree Prem, dance is not merely movement — it is prayer, memory, and emotion expressed through the body.

Founder of Prathibha School of Dance, Rajasree Prem has devoted her life to the study, practice, and teaching of Indian classical dance. Grounded in the disciplines of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam — alongside expressive semi-classical choreography — her teaching blends the rigour of the guru-shishya parampara with a warm, contemporary approach that makes classical dance accessible to every student who walks through her door.

Over the years, her academy has grown into a cultural cornerstone for the Indian community in Kuwait — a place where heritage is kept alive through regular recitals, Arangetrams, and cultural showcases. Her vision remains simple: to pass on this art form, with all its discipline and beauty, to the next generation.

  • Decades of devoted training and practice in classical Indian dance
  • Mentor to generations of dancers across Kuwait
  • Choreographer and director of cultural productions and Arangetrams
  • Committed to preserving the guru-shishya tradition of teaching
